Weekly Outfit: Little Pink Scissors Skirt

Ok, so this is actually from last Monday night before I went clubbing on Melbourne Cup Eve, but with all my excitement over the Gangster's Ball I forgot about these pics. It was a warm night so I wore a minimal cotton ensemble:

Pink net undershirt and fingerless gloves, a black halter neck tank, and this super cute Edward Scissorhands flippy skirt purchased at a Paris street market. I rarely buy skirts that I could make myself like this one except when they feature things I couldn't make such as...

...this unique scissors and bramble embroidery detail. I love it!

I wore the top tucked into the skirt so this detail would show. I love the candy pink color of it all too (I was going through a pink craze when I was in Europe for some reason!).

With my stylish friend Tanja. We are in her beautiful home, which is where I spent Melbourne Cup day (on the balcony rating race goers--and yes, we DID use number cards after all! haha!).

Me accosting one of her many feminine art works with a (empty) bottle of pink muscato.

So today we celebrate the fall of the Berlin Wall 20 years ago. I have a special love for Berlin after visiting a travel friend there (a girl I have met in 3 countries now!). I can't wait to visit again, which is certain as Tanja (girl above) is moving there in March. *bawls*
Here is a great article I read today on what Mikhail Gorbachev had to say about the end of the cold war, the Berlin Wall, and a few surprising perspectives on the U.S. thinking they were winners of the cold war:  http://www.thenation.com/doc/20091116/kvh_cohen
