My EPIC Game of Thrones party post continues with pictures from the crux of the event, the Saturday evening Iron Throne costume feast!

The iron throne that Di and Maiki made with about 100+ plastic swords, a heat gun, lots of spray paint, and their sheer creative awesomeness.

Di and guests helped to decorate the ballroom in a medieval style with banners, candles, goblets, leaves and branches. It was warm, cozy, and elegant. I'm not allowed to post the pictures of what it all looked like the morning after!

And here we are in all our Game of Thrones geeky glory!

Hands down, the best costume went to the hostess, Di, who made an amazing medieval fantasy witch costume with horns and armour. Creative genius!

And Di's husband, Mik, had a medieval knight costume fit for a king!

My own costume was an aubergine purple suede velveteen medieval gown with a gold, pink and black brocade center and gold braiding. I made it using the Burda costume pattern M6376, and like all commercial patterns, it was one size too big. :(
But it was fully lined and warm; perfect for running around the unheated convent!

There were medieval witches...

Calisi...

Dothraki women...

Knights..

Ladies of the Court...
Kings...

And randoms, as the actual event name was Renegade Warriors, so any type of royalty would do, like this Russian czar...
a Queen of style (how hot are Black Milk leggings right now??! want!)...

And a Confucius...

Me and my lovely friend Shannon

Back on the throne!

After the epic photography session was the big feast. SO much delicious food, each of the guests having contributed one dish to the meal. From then we converged again in the chapel for the treasure hunt...

Check out Di's horns as she explained the rules of the treasure hunt! We were each paired up into teams and given a list of riddles to solve, and we were meant to seek out the printed answer in the places most likely to be related to the riddle. For example, "The Calisi has three of these. Where does she keep them?" Or something like that, so some of us ran around to the fireplaces, the pantry, and finally (if you knew it existed) out back to the chicken coop!

Shannon and Henry. They didn't win.
The next day was a huge sleep-in and recovery day, and lots of cleaning up...
Me, having a tart for breakfast, as you do when on holiday!
With all of us hung over as all get-out, Di held a trivia game after dinner Sunday night, to really test our remaining brain cells. She donned another crazy outfit for it too: her pink, hand-painted DaDa suit!
Maiki's girly team.
My team, the Four-something, I can't remember...
Later Di made the whole ballroom one big movie theatre, with a projector on one of the massive walls, and all the couches in the convent lined up with tons of cushions and throws. Of course most of us fell asleep before the film was half way finished. Maiki even spilled a glass of wine on himself. :P
So that was the epic Game of Thrones convent party!
Thanks to all the guests who shared their photos. :)
The End.
